Differences triggered by light quality in lettuce shoot growth and metabolite content are not translated to root exudation and root-associated microbiome

The root-associated bacterial communities of lettuce grown under three different light qualities: full-spectrum light, red light, and blue light. The communities were characterized using 16S rRNA gene sequencing on an Illumina platform. Our results indicate that light quality does not change root tissue metabolites, root exudation profile and bacterial community structure of root-associated bacteria.
