Dataset for: Effects of Oil-Contaminated Sediments on Submerged Vegetation: An Experimental Assessment of Ruppia maritima

We grew Ruppia maritima in a range of manipulated sediment oil concentrations: 0, 0.26, 0.53, and 1.05 mL oil /L tank volume. This dataset reports the initial and final wet weight, shoot density, shoot length, inflorescence, seed production, root characteristics, and uprooting force of plants for 12 replicates of each treatment. Each replicate contained 3 plants. Alkane and aromatic concentrations for each treatment are included. Additionally, soil cohesion was measured weekly at the same oil concentrations and is reported as force needed to remove plastic beads from sediment. All plants were grown in 19L tanks in the Louisiana State University greenhouse facility.
