VPRS 13939 Outward Letter Book

Letter Books were the means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office were retained for future reference.This volume includes copies of outward correspondence from the Town Clerk of the Municipal District and Borough of Moonambel on a variety of matters relating to the municipality. Outward correspondence for the period between November 1861 to December 1864 can be found of pages 1 to 463.It appears that subsequent to the amalgamation of the Moonambel Borough and VA 536 Avoca II Road District in 1864, correspondence from the Borough's Town Clerk in Moonambel continued until December 1965.This volume also contains outward correspondence from the Secretary of the Shire of Avoca II (VA 536) for the period between April 1866 and March 1867, starting from page 473. It appears that the Shire Secretary of Avoca II may have used the blank pages from page 473 onward of this volume when he completed VPRS 12300/P1 Outward Letter Books, Unit 1 in 5th March 1866.
