Two snailfish individuals were collected from the Yap Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, at a 6,903 m depth via the Chinese manned submersible Jiaolong (National Deep Sea Center, China), with a tentative name of Yap hadal snailfish (YHS). Six tissues including eye, gut, liver, muscle, skin and stomach were collected from the YHS for transcriptome sequencing.
