Human umbilical cord tissue is a robust source for mesenchymal stem cells with enhanced myogenic differentiation potential compared to cord blood

We report that mesenchymal stem cells isolated from umbilical cord tissue differentiate more robustly into the myogenic lineage compared to mesenchymal stem cells from cord blood isolated from the same individual MSCs isolated from cord tissue (UCT) and cord blood (UCB) were induced to differentiate in myogenic differentiation medium and enhanced adhesion for 7 days.
