<strong>Dataset Title:</strong> ASPECT-Based 3D Mantle Convection Models and Stress Inversion Data for the Korean Peninsula<br><strong>Description:</strong><br>This dataset contains the full model setup and observational data used for a suite of three-dimensional instantaneous mantle convection simulations conducted with the <em>ASPECT</em> geodynamic modeling code. The simulations investigate how subduction geometry and mantle thermal/compositional heterogeneity influence crustal stress beneath the Korean Peninsula and surrounding regions.<br>The repository includes the following: <strong>Model setup files (.prm)</strong>: ASPECT parameter files defining boundary conditions, plate configurations, and slab geometries. <strong>Initial condition fields (.txt)</strong>: Temperature fields based on the FWEA18 S-wave tomography model, converted to physical temperature via Q-corrected thermodynamic inversion using BurnMan. Compositional fields based on Slab2.0 geometry, distinguishing slab and background mantle domains. <strong>Stress inversion data:</strong> <code>stress_inversion/dir_SH_max_azimuth.dat</code> – Observed azimuths of the maximum horizontal compressive stress (SH<sub>max</sub>) derived from moment tensor solutions. This dataset is used to compare predicted principal stress orientations from the geodynamic models with seismic observations. <strong>Documentation:</strong> Text files and README describing domain setup (110–145°E, 20–50°N, 0–650 km), numerical resolution (0.125° × 0.125°, 25 km), rheology, and thermal structure.<br><strong>Output data:</strong> Each modeled velocity, strain rate, stress, and temperature within the upper mantle and lithosphere.<br>
