This paper presents a study about the use of metadatastandards for the
area of Biodiversity Informatics. SpeciesDistribution Modeling tools
generated models that offerinformation about species distribution and
allow scientists,researchers, environmentalists, companies and govern
tomake decisions to protect and preserve biodiversity. Studiesreveal that
this area require new technologies and thisinclude the interoperability
between models generated bySpecies Distribution Tools. To ensure
interoperability, wepresent a schema that use metadata standards to
generateXML archives that contain all information necessary to reusemodels
of species distribution. This is part of a complexsystem that involves
concepts of species distributionmodeling, and computational concepts of
interoperability.Therefore, the use of tools to assist the understanding
of theprocess involved in these complex systems, supports thisresearch in
order to arrive at a more complete andsatisfactory solution.
