Genome-wide CpG methylome sequencing in PBMCs from mammary gland tumor and healthy dogs

The dog has long been considered a valuable animal model for studying tumor immunity due to its immune competency and biological similarities with human tumors. We performed MBD-seq on PBMCs derived from mammary tumors and healthy dogs and provided an understanding of the epigenetic regulation of circulating immune cells in response to tumors. In addition, a methylome-based classifier distinguishing between benign and malignant tumors was generated using machine learning algorithms. It presents a new strategy for diagnosing benign and malignant tumors using blood.
