资源简介:
The following is a summary of excavations performed at Unit 116 of Site LA 37767 (Flying Fish Village). LA 37767 is located on the southern side of the Seco Creek, which is a drainage of the Black Range Mountains in Southern New Mexico. Flying Fish Village is composed of single-story masonry roomblocks and dates to the Mimbres Classic Period. Unit 116 was selected for excavation during the 2002 field season due to its location between two known rooms (Room 35 to the south, and Room 120 to the north). We chose to excavate in the space between them in order to clarify their relationship. Units 35 and 120 were excavated during the 2001 field season. During these excavations it was found that their west walls did not align. Because of these differing wall alignments, Unit 116 was opened to discover what lay between these two rooms. Unit 116 was laid out to encompass a single room as part of the earlier occupation.
