Dataset for: The roles of fallow field biotopes and winter flooded paddy fields as breeding and overwintering sites for aquatic insects

Dataset on abundances of aquatic insects, prey animals, and environmental factors in fallow field biotopes and winter-flooded paddy fields in Toyooka, Hyogo, Japan (Watanabe et al., 2025, manuscript under review). Field surveys were conducted in areas where agrochemical-free biotopes and winter-flooded paddy fields coexisted, at both multiregional (summer: June 7–July 10, 2023; winter: January 20–February 13, 2024) and single-region spatial scales (April 2023–March 2025).
