CUAD is a specialized corpus for legal contract review. It contains over 13,000 annotations, covering 510 commercial legal contracts that have been manually annotated to identify 41 critical clauses that attorneys focus on during the review of corporate transaction contracts. The corpus is sourced from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR system, with all texts in English, and is divided into training and test sets. CUAD supports closed-domain question answering and extractive question answering tasks, and offers standardized data manipulation operations. This dataset is licensed under the CC-BY 4.0 license, and can be freely used for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
