The metrics shown in his dasbboard for categorizing Intake and Outcome information are based on industry standards outlined by the Basic Animal Data Matrix. INTAKE / ADMISSION Term Definition B: Stray/At Large Determined to be unowned or free roaming. C: Relinquish by owner Pets admitted by owner, including adoption returns. D: Owner Intended Euthanasia Limited to the following: Admissions of pets whose owner brought the pet to the shelter with the intent of requesting euthanasia. E: Transferred in from agency An admission from another agency, for adoption, or large-scale seizure support, etc. F: Other intakes Admitted because of cruelty cases and/or protective custody. Also, includes pets born while in care, and other types of admissions not captured elsewhere. LIVE OUTCOME / DISPOSITION Term Definition H: Adoption Final adoptions only, having permanently left the agency's possession. This does not include pets placed in foster care. I: Returned to owner Stray or Owner Relinquished pet returned to their owner. J: Transferred to another agency Transferred out of the Division’s possession to another entity. K: Returned to field Animals included in intake, altered, and returned its pickup location for release L: Other live outcomes Other outcomes not included elsewhere. OTHER OUTCOME / DISPOSITION Term Definition N: Died In Care Animals who die, unassisted, while sheltered. O: Lost in Care Animals whose outcome is unknown (may have escaped the shelter, outcome was not recorded and unknown). P: Shelter Euthanasia All euthanasia other than that performed by the definition below as owner intended euthanasia. Q: Owner Intended Euthanasia Limited to this definition: Euthanasia of pets whose owner brought the pet to the shelter with the intent of utilizing euthanasia services.
