Rhincodon typus Genome sequencing

We generated an improved chromosome-level genome assembly of the whale shark (Rhincodon typus), the largest living fish and an evolutionarily important lineage of cartilaginous vertebrates. The new assembly greatly reduces gaps, provides more complete sex chromosome sequences, and offers a valuable resource for studying genome structure and evolution in vertebrates.
