The cell cycle is tightly coupled to biomass synthesis. This suggests that some cell cycle regulators might also be involved in metabolic control. RB1 is primarily implicated in the control of the G1 to S phase transition during the cell cycle. However, increasing evidence suggests pivotal roles of the RB1 tumor suppressor in metabolic regulation. We focused on how RB1 controls glycolytic metabolism in gastric cancer.
