Museu Paulista is closed for works: critical and collaborative reviews of the painting Independência ou Morte, by Pedro Américo

ABSTRACT This article discusses the set of collaborative experiences carried out since 2014 with painters from Praça da República and Parque Trianon-Masp as a reaction to the temporary closure of the Museu Paulista and the unavailability of the materiality of the painting Independência ou Morte, by Pedro Américo, during the renovation of that institution. From concepts related to the field of historical painting in the 19th century, to the processes of building memories via official State symbols, to the practice of artistic appropriation and including considerations by the participating painters themselves, this study shows how contemporary art can be combined with other subareas of fine arts to produce critical reviews of historical art works.摘要 本文探讨了2014年以来与共和国广场（Praça da República）及特里亚农公园-圣保罗艺术博物馆（Parque Trianon-Masp）周边画家开展的一系列协作创作实践，其缘起于圣保罗博物馆（Museu Paulista）临时闭馆，且该馆在修缮期间无法展出佩德罗·阿梅里科（Pedro Américo）的画作《独立或死亡》（Independência ou Morte）的实体展品。本研究从19世纪历史绘画领域的相关理论出发，涵盖通过官方国家符号建构集体记忆的路径、艺术挪用实践，并纳入参与画家的自身思考，阐释了当代艺术如何与美术其他分支领域相结合，以实现对历史艺术作品的批判性评析。
