Our company's printed products have enjoyed wide market popularity for years. To better understand the market demand for printed products from customers across different regions, our company collected and calculated the demand elasticity data of relevant printed products. We gathered demand and price data of relevant printed products over a specific time period to derive the price elasticity of demand for the printed products. If the ratio of the change in quantity demanded of printed products is greater than the ratio of the change in price, the demand for such printed products is considered elastic, which indicates customers' sensitivity to price fluctuations. The higher the elasticity, the more sensitive the demand is to price changes. All enterprises in this industry can appropriately lower the prices of printed products to achieve higher revenues. Conversely, if the demand for printed products is inelastic, all enterprises in the industry can appropriately raise the product prices to gain more revenues. This dataset holds significant importance for the marketing decision-making of all enterprises in the industry. 1. Data Collection: Collect demand and price data of relevant printed products over a specific time period, then organize and summarize the data based on customer regions to obtain the changes in quantity demanded and price fluctuations of the printed products across different regions. 2. Algorithm Rules: Calculate the collected data using the following formula to obtain the demand elasticity coefficient: $Ed = -(Delta Q/Q) div (Delta P/P)$. Where: $Q$ refers to the quantity demanded of the product, with the unit of copy; $P$ refers to the price of the product, with the unit of yuan; $Delta Q$ refers to the year-on-year change in quantity demanded, with the unit of copy; $Delta P$ refers to the year-on-year change in price, with the unit of yuan. The absolute value of the demand elasticity coefficient $|Ed|$ is taken as the reference coefficient for data analysis. 3. Data Analysis: Analyze the price elasticity of demand for the printed products based on the value of $|Ed|$: (1) $|Ed| = 1$ (Unitary Price Elasticity of Demand): indicates that the magnitude of change in quantity demanded is identical to that of price changes; (2) $1 < |Ed| < infty$ (Elastic Demand): indicates that the magnitude of change in quantity demanded is greater than that of price changes; (3) $0 < |Ed| < 1$ (Inelastic Demand): indicates that the magnitude of change in quantity demanded is smaller than that of price changes; (4) $|Ed| o 0$ (Perfectly Inelastic Demand): means that regardless of price fluctuations, the quantity demanded remains unchanged; (5) $|Ed| o infty$ (Perfectly Elastic Demand): means that the quantity demanded can vary arbitrarily at a given price.
