Canine vector borne diseases: Prevalence, Diversity and phylogenetics of species infecting dogs in Sri Lanka

The main objective of this study is to carry out an island-wide study on CVBDs dogs in Sri Lanka. The specific objectives are to determine the prevalence and intensity of infection in different in dog groups (free-roaming, privately-owned dogs and working dogs in the SLAF); to compare the diagnostic techniques (microscopy and molecular techniques) and to study the phylogenetics of the infectious hemoparasites in the dogs in Sri Lanka.
