Analysis of the External Influencing Factors of Professional Satisfaction in Preventive Medicine

Objective To explore the satisfaction of undergraduate students in preventive medicine, and to analyze its external influencing factors, so as to provide a reference for improving the quality of public health higher education services.Methods Data from the “Sunshine College Entrance Examination” information platform were analyzed. Dependent variables included overall satisfaction, satisfaction with school conditions, teaching quality, and employment. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to explore influencing factors, with a focus on regional and subgroup variations.Results Among the 87 Institutions included, the average overall satisfaction score was 3.94, with the lowest employment satisfaction score of 3.61. The eastern region had the highest average satisfaction and the western region had the lowest. The results of regression analysis showed that the top 50% of universities ranked in preventive medicine had lower overall satisfaction (95%CI=(-0.59, -0.05)) and lower employment satisfaction (95%CI=(-0.73, -0.06)). The higher the level of healthy China development of universities in the central region, the lower the satisfaction with teaching quality (95%CI=(-1.31, -0.02)) and employment satisfaction (95%CI=(-1.64, -0.09)).Conclusion Universities should focus on improving the education of preventive medicine professionals while enhancing research capabilities. Strengthening resource allocation, acknowledging regional differences, and implementing targeted policies are essential for boosting student satisfaction.
