After Thailand longan 'E-daw' as a high quality cultivar was introduced into China, it mainly depended on self pollination to finish fertilization process. There was unilateral cross incompatibility between 'E-daw' and Chinese dominant longan cultivars, that is, when 'E-daw' was used as female parent, it could not fertilize and set fruits, while 'Yiduo' as male parent could fertilize and set fruits normally. In this study, transcriptome sequencing technology was used to detect the process of pollination and fertilization of 'E-daw' and Shixia reciprocal crosses, to compare the gene expression at different stages before and after pollination, to screen the significantly different expression genes, and to reveal the molecular mechanism of E-daw cross incompatibility.
