GRPS1024 descendant and enumeration library for the groups of 1024

This dataset contains the precomputed library of groups of order 1024 used by the GAP package GRPS1024. It provides explicit access to all groups of rank 2-4, the rank 1 and rank 10 groups, and the rank 5-9 groups of p-class at least 3, together with partial descendant/parent-group data (parent group ID, parent group order, p-class, rank, age) for the remaining rank 5-9 groups of p-class 2. The groups were generated with the p-group generation algorithm (O'Brien, 1990) as implemented in the ANUPQ package (Gamble, Nickel, O'Brien & Horn, 2019); the remaining rank-5–9, p-class-2 groups were enumerated using the cohomological methods of Eick & O'Brien (1999). This data underlies the enumeration reported in: D. Burrell, "On The Number of Groups of Order 1024," Communications in Algebra 50(6) (2022), 2408–2410. The archive is organized into Desc_2, Desc_4, …, Desc_512 and Enum_2, …, Enum_512 subdirectories, unpacked into the lib/ folder of the GRPS1024 package. See the package documentation for usage.
