In anticipation of Ramadan in 2021, 48 percent of respondents from the Middle East and North Africa expect to live Ramadan rituals with restrictions due to COVID-19. At the same time, a quarter of respondents from the region will be taking high precautions even if there are no restrictions. Prior to the global pandemic, mosques and other Islamic facilities experienced a considerable surge in visitors for the month of Ramadan. Due to social distancing measures, Muslims all around the world are considering performing their prayers at home, as they did during the beginning of the pandemic in Ramadan 2020. This year, Ramadan is expected to start by April 13th and end on May 12th with the three day festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
