Immunological aspects of the relationship between parasites and their hosts

The aim ofthe project is understanding of the cellular, biochemical and molecular basis of relations between parasite and host immune system. On the one hand, we are studying immunoregulator mechanisms realized by Cestodes parasiting in fish. From another hand, we are investigating changes in immune system of fish after invasion with Cestodes and also infection with pathogen bacteria. In addition, we test the therapeutic potential of parasitic-derived immunoregulators.
