This project is a part of studio based research conducted by Metacenta which wishes to develop a strong and constantly evolving network of collaborators throughout the world that can create opportunities for diverse projects and initiate project growth.
This collaborative project seeks to be part of a number of activities that may change the nature of research need and capacity by creating a strategy whereby many interlinking and diverse projects can happen spontaneously and inexpensively, in this case, through wall drawing in an architectural space.
It was curated by Irene Barberis and involved lecturers/artists from both the UK and Australia. The artists involved from University of Arts London are Paul Coldwell, Jeffrey Dennis and Kelly Chorpening and from RMIT University Australia, Wilma Tobacco, Fran Van Reimsdyk, Rhet D'costa, Sally Cleary and myself. They were selected because of their roles as educators in Fine Art with an aim to extend the notion of collaborative practices in an Academic environment. The project was significant in it was both international in scope, establishing links between universities and research based in its aim of staff/student collaborative practices.

The primary research aim of this project was to extend research in teaching practices as it involved the collaboration between myself as a lecturer and a 3rd year painting student Jordon Hoffman. The aim of this collaboartion was to explore how normal teaching activies might be extended through extra actvies of Metacentre. As such its research signifigance lies in the the open ended learning activities that both lecturer and student may discover through a shared drawing project where colllaboarative decision making is essential to the final work. It proved to be an instuctive eercise for both Jordan and myself.
