资源简介:
The objectives of the Behavioral Tracking Survey (BTS) were (1) To measure the major outcomes and impacts of the interventions funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) under the Avahan India AIDS Initiative by collecting behavioral trend data in populations targeted by the interventions. (2) To understand the relationship between community mobilization and service indicator outcomes such as promotion of condom use, reduction in violence and improved service utilization. (3)To make information available for modeling the impact of the intervention. This survey was conducted in the six districts (Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Ananthapur, Chitoor and Khammam) of Andhra Pradesh for FSW population, while it covered only three districts (Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda) for High risk MSM population.
Behavioral Tracking Survey (BTS) round 3, was conducted in 6 districts ( Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Ananthapur, Chitoor and Khammam) of Andhra Pradesh. The study involved two stages viz., rapid remapping exercise followed by the sampling and quantitative survey. Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) sampling method was adopted for selection of different clusters. Within different clusters a total of 3600 samples were collected in AP. A sample of 2400 FSWs was selected from Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Ananthapur, Chitoor and Khammam districts of AP. A sample of 1200 High risk MSM was selected from Warangal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda districts of AP. All the FSWs and High risk MSM selected for the study were members of a community based organisation in the respective districts. The eligible Female Sex Workers (FSW) participating in the study were females aged 18 years or older, either brothel or street or lodge or home based, who sold sex in exchange for cash at least once in the past one month.
