Spots all over: Records of piebaldism in red-tailed squirrel Syntheosciurus granatensis in northwestern Ecuador

We documented piebaldism in Syntheosciurus granatensis using camera-trap bycatch data (2014–2024). These data were collected from various camera trap projects in NW Ecuador. Some projects followed a grid cell method (MPP, PCN), while others (e.g. Mashpi_Camaras trampa, Tayra Historical) did not. Data was collected using various camera trap brands, across various seasons, and different land ownership types.
