资源简介:
Existing studies on the characteristics of radon progeny aerosols have been conducted mainly in large-volume radon chambers, while data on the activity size distribution of radon progeny in small-volume controlled systems remain scarce. To evaluate the effectiveness of radon progeny compensation in artificial radioactive aerosol monitors, this study aimed to provide data on the activity size distribution of radon progeny under small-volume controlled conditions.A novel small-volume radon progeny compensation system was developed, and experiments were conducted under specific conditions, with radon concentrations ranging from 2000 to 20000 Bq·m-3 and aerosol particle number concentrations ranging from 3000 to 50000 p·cm-3. By integrating the graded screen array method, alpha spectrometry, and the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm. The experimental results showed that the activity size distribution of radon progeny aerosols regulated by this system exhibited a bimodal pattern, consisting of attached and unattached fractions. The activity median diameter (AMD) of the unattached mode ranged from 0.931 to 2.207 nm, whereas that of the attached mode was approximately 453 nm.The unattached fraction ranged from 0.043 to 0.806 for RaA, from 0.023 to 0.584 for RaB, and from 0.01 to 0.358 for RaC.This dataset provides experimental support for evaluating the effectiveness of radon progeny compensation in artificial radioactive aerosol monitors and fills the gap in publicly available data on the activity size distribution of radon progeny under small-volume controlled conditions.
