Genome Atlas of Chirolophis japonicus: Chromosomal Assembly, Annotation and Evolutionary Insights

Here we present a chromosome-level genome assembly of Chirolophis japonicus (617.85 Mb), with a contig N50 of 9.70 Mb and 98.51% sequences anchored to 28 chromosomes. We annotated 22,165 protein-coding genes, of which 98.39% were functionally annotated. The assembly shows high completeness (BUSCO: 98.65%) and accuracy (Merqury QV: 45.26). This genomic resource provides essential foundations for evolutionary studies, population genetics, and conservation biology of this ecologically intriguing species.
