Lamp featuring dancing bes

Reddish brown clay. Blackish-grey gunshot marks at the base of the two wick holes. Clay discoloured dark grey in the break. One fixing hole in the lamp. The front and back show cracks. The lamp consists of a straight front, which is composed of two wick holes and a relief, and a curved back. The relief on the front of the lamp shows a naked dancing Bes standing with his right leg on the base while his left leg is spread wide and raised at an angle. He rests his right hand on his hip, the attribute-less left hand he stretches bent to the side and upwards. On his bearded, frontally oriented head, Bes wears a small crown of feathers. Bes's typical physiognomy is characterised by goggle eyes, licking tongue and distorted features.
