Dataset for rapid evidence review of nature exposure, human health, and sustainability Dataset overview This dataset contains the structured evidence base used in a rapid literature review examining how research at the human–nature interface integrates human health outcomes, ecological conditions, and sustainability considerations. The dataset was developed to support a conceptual synthesis and framework development linking human wellbeing benefits of nature exposure with ecological integrity and sustainability dimensions. Bibliographic records were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection for English-language peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025. From 13,488 initial records identified through a Boolean search strategy, the 1,000 most cited articles were prioritised for screening. Eligibility screening identified 64 studies reporting both nature exposure and measurable human health or wellbeing outcomes. After verification and consensus review, 56 studies were retained for the final evidence synthesis. Data extraction and verification Study information was extracted using a structured data extraction framework covering bibliographic metadata, study characteristics, exposure metrics, health outcomes, ecological indicators, and sustainability-related variables. Data extraction was assisted by a large language model (ChatGPT, GPT-5, OpenAI) following a predefined extraction template. All extracted fields were manually verified against the original publications by human reviewers to ensure accuracy and consistency. Extracted variables were harmonised using controlled vocabularies and standardised terminology. Dataset structure The dataset contains bibliographic metadata, study descriptors, extracted variables describing human health and environmental characteristics, and harmonised categorical taxonomies used for evidence synthesis.
