Artificial mixtures, stool samples and environmental samples (sewage) containing poliovirus and non-polio enteroviruses have been sequenced using the Oxford Nanopore MinION. Amplification strategies used include whole poliovirus genome sequencing using primers from Stern et al 2017, sequencing of the capsid region using primer sets Cre_R/5'NCR and MM_EV_R1/MM_EV_F2, and VP1 sequencing via Y7/Q8. Sequencing was performed on FLO-MIN 106 MinIONs and the resulting fastq files demultiplexed using Porechop.
