Alfalfa resistant cultivar breeding is an essential component of an integrated crop management system to control aphid, however, the molecular and genetic mechanism was unknown. To reveal alfalfa cultivar physiological resistance to pests, differentially expressed gene (DEG) of resistant (Zhongmu 1, including RA_1 with aphid infestation and RA_2 without aphid infestation) and sensitive (SOCA, including SA_1 with aphid infestation and SA_2 without aphid infestation) alfalfa cultivars were analyzed by comparative transcriptomic.This study demonstrates the applicability of high-throughput omics tools to identify molecules linked to alfalfa cultivars resistance to aphids.
