The aim of this sequencing project was to elucidate the genomic basis of the broad antifungal spectrum of the strain SMMP3. Pseudomonas chlororaphis subsp. aurantiaca strain SMMP3 was isolated from an agricultural soil subject to soybean monoculture in Argentina, and showed a broad spectrum of in vitro inhibitory activity against plant-pathogenic fungi. It produces a diffusible orange pigment compatible with the family of phenazines. SMMP3 may be suitable for the development of bio-inputs for controlling plant fungal pathogens and promote crop yield.
