A cross-sectional survey to assess patients’ expectancies from homeopathy in a homeopathic hospital in India

Patient expectancy toward homeopathic care in a tertiary hospital setting was found to be high and primarily shaped by prior treatment experiences and system-level beliefs rather than socio-demographic characteristics. Using a psychometrically validated 8-item instrument, expectancy showed good reliability and a two-factor structure reflecting general trust and direct clinical expectations. Perceived past effectiveness of homeopathy and the belief in its broad applicability across age groups were the strongest correlates of higher expectancy.
