This is a test to capture what boulder rolling vs vertical impact may look like on seismic instruments along the dry Pinos ephemeral channel. We have several flood events captured on the Bedload Experiment nodes from 2021, and we want to test whether the predictive models of the seismic noise from bedload transport, assuming only vertical impacts, are useful to explain our flood data. We will place nodes along the side of the channel and then experiment with rolling boulders along the channel bed as well as dropping them for vertical impact.
