资源简介:

This document records the completion and applied analysis of Chapter 1 (Introduction) of Donella H. Meadows’ Thinking in Systems. The study focuses on Meadows’ foundational claim that human intuition is optimized for short-term feedback rather than long-term system behavior, leading to repeated governance and reform failures. Using Meadows’ three-part system test—elements, interconnections, and purpose—this document identifies and analyzes a real-world transitional system in which a commons-based, transparency-first initiative is being developed within a dominant extractive, profit-driven governance environment. The analysis emphasizes that system purpose is revealed through observed behavior over time rather than stated intent, and that outcomes are governed by structural interconnections rather than individual morality. This work establishes a documented learning milestone toward systems architecture, commons governance design, and ethical institutional development.
