97% (30/31) of pharmacists and 75% (9/12) patent medicine vendors had knowledge of delivering rapid diagnostics for other health-conditions, compared to 100% of primary healthcare workers (73/73). All the pharmacist and primary health workers considered that Ag-RDT for COVID-19 easy to perform, compared to patent medicine vendors (92%, 11/12). Community pharmacist (75%, 21/31) and primary health workers (75%, 53/73), Patent medicine vendors (55%, 6/12) but not community pharmacist were less likely to disagree that clinical symptoms alone are sufficient to diagnose COVID-19 compared to primary healthcare workers (75%, 53/73), and pharmacists (35%, 11/31) and patent medicine vendors (67%, 8/12) were less likely to fully trust a negative RDT result as truly negative than primary healthcare workers (70%, 51/73).The median number of daily tests was also highest in primary healthcare (2 tests), implying greater exposure to COVID-19 Ag-RDT. All pharmacists and primary healthcare workers surveyed had tertiary education, compared to 33% (4/12) of patent medicine vendors.
