In accordance with section 18 of the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance (Cap 541), the Electoral Affairs Commission (“EAC”) submitted to the Chief Executive (“CE”) a report on its recommendations on the constituency boundaries for the 2011 District Council Ordinary Election on 11 March 2011. The CE in Council accepted the recommendations on 22 March 2011 and, pursuant to section 6 of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap 547), made the Declaration of Constituencies (District Councils) Order 2011, which became effective on 23 May 2011 after the Legislative Council completed the negative vetting. The delineation of constituencies came into operation on 1 January 2012. For details about the delineation exercise, please refer to the abovementioned report, which is available at the EAC’s website (www.eac.hk).
