Analysis of Hybrid and Non-Hybrid assemblies: Whole Genome Sequencing of Ciprofloxacin Non-Susecptible Bacillus anthracis Strains from iSeq and MinION Data

WGS was performed on seven CIP-NS B. anthracis strains; multiplexed Long Read Sequencing (LRS) using Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT, MinION) and Short Read Sequencing (SRS) platform (Illumina, iSeq). Genome assemblies were constructed from each data set, and hybrid assemblies from combined data sets were assembled. We compared the quality of genome assemblies from both technologies and investigated whether known mutations resulting in a CIP-NS phenotype in B. anthracis could be detected.
