Saccharomyces cerevisiae W303 Genome sequencing

To shed light on how cells maintain good quality Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). mtDNA of yeast cells were induced to generate errors by continuously growing cells in a non-fermentable medium containing the DNA intercalating reagent "ethidium bromide" (EtBr), and evolved into either more stringent or normal temperature. We have identified some condition-specific factors as well as two general factors playing role in improving mtDNA QC.
