资源简介:
The project “Design and pilot study of an online course to empower health professionals in the care of elderly pain in Santa Marta, Colombia” had the objective do and prove an online course to empower health professionals in the care of elderly pain in Santa Marta, Colombia. We used a mixed design (qualitative and quantitative) in two phases: the first phase will be to design and create the online course. The second phase will be for the pilot study, with a pre-post design. The project is supported by an education grant from the International Association for the Study of Pain® (IASP®), with the support of Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, and the collaboration of Universidad del Norte (Barranquilla, Colombia), and Universidad Central de Chile As a result of the project, we elaborated the course "Comprehensive care for the elderly with chronic pain". This course is focused on promoting knowledge and communicative abilities in health professionals to empower the older person with pain in his self-care, with an emphasis on musculoskeletal pain problems. We evaluated the acceptability and viability of the online course, as well as the effect on participants' knowledge, attitudes, and abilities. In order to assess student satisfaction with the virtual course and learn their opinions about the virtual environment and the teaching methodology, the participants who completed the course were asked to answer a 14-question online survey. In the end, suggestions were solicited to improve the course. The survey was based on the Quality Assessment Questionnaire for virtual courses of the Distance Education University of Spain (UNED) (Casal, 2010). The following files are shared: 1. The applied survey (in pdf formats) 2. The answers of the participants (in Excel and CVS formats) In addition, a semi-structured interview was used for opinions about the course and learning. It was applied one month after the end of the course. It was shared by email to the participants, in order to obtain information about their opinion about the immediate effects of the course in terms of their knowledge and skills, as well as their satisfaction with the course, difficulties, and opportunities for improvement. The content analysis allowed us to identify 9 categories that were grouped into four themes: Categories related to satisfaction with the course, suggestions for improvement, learning, and commitment to researchers. The interview format and the summary table of the content analysis are shared The following files are shared: 1. Semi-structured interview format 2. Summary of categories, codes and examples
