NRS-19375 | Railway Personal history cards – country and metropolitan employees

This series consists of personal history cards (form X1409) recording appointment and service history details of railway employees. Primary entries record name, date of birth, date of appointment, staff certificate number, and date commenced to contribute to the Railway Service Superannuation Fund. Further entries record dates of position (employment classification), location, branch, rate of pay, and remarks.Supplementary cards, where attached, include form X1409B, for construction employees; form X1409E, which includes a record of military service; and form X3197, recording details of time worked for leave purposes. There are a small number of absentee, record of sick pay, and minor offences cards.The series is a consolidation of the last known extant history cards, primarily from country regions and workshops. Noted dates of birth range from 1898 to 1967, and almost all entries on the cards, with a few exceptions, are prior to the indicated end date of 1986.
