资源简介:
In Other WordsAnna McMichael (violin)Daniel de Borah (piano)Transcriptions have long been a popular genre. Composers rework their own compositions and often those of others, whether as tribute or appropriation. The origin of a transformed piece may be the music for a song, a different instrument, or even from a ballet, opera or orchestral suite. A reworked piece may emerge from a composer’s reimagining of an earlier work. It also may be pragmatically prompted by reputational or financial pressures to produce new work for the paying public. Transforming favourite pieces has long been a musical pastime, with the reworked piece intended for the salon or for a new lease of life on the concert stage. The recreated pieces selected for violin and piano for this CD were both written and arranged for this combination by Brahms, Schumann, Liszt and Stravinsky.PROGRAMStravinsky - Gavotte and two Variations from “After themes, fragments and pieces by Pergolesi”Franz Liszt - Romance oubliée, S132/R467bSchumann - Three Fantasy Pieces, Op.73Schumann/Auer - Vogel als Prophet (Bird as Prophet) from Waldszenen op. 82Franz Liszt - Die Zelle in NonnenwerthBrahms – Sonata for Violin and Piano in E-flat, Op.120, No.2Stravinsky – Chanson RusseStravinsky - Danse Russehttps://open.spotify.com/album/4BkjzzvjrCt7q2hliiPd3Dhttps://www.annamcmichael.com/in-other-wordshttps://music.apple.com/us/album/in-other-words/1540028992Tall Poppies CD - TP254
