资源简介:
The Future Wildfire Hazard dataset offers a global, high-resolution (0.1°) view of changing wildfire risk from 1981 to 2100. It provides three key indicators derived from the Fire Weather Index (FWI), a measure that combines temperature, wind, humidity, and rainfall to estimate fire potential:
- Fire Weather Index: A yearly average of fire danger levels based on weather.
- Extreme Danger Days: Number of very high-risk fire days per year.
- Fire Season Length: Number of days with elevated fire risk annually.
These indicators capture both long-term trends and increasing extremes, offering actionable insights into how wildfire conditions may evolve with climate change.
The dataset is built from five widely used global climate models and aligned with three IPCC emissions scenarios (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP5-8.5), representing a range of possible futures from low to high emissions. It supports climate risk assessments, investment planning, and resilience strategies across sectors exposed to fire hazards, including insurance, energy, forestry, real estate, and infrastructure.
Professionals can apply the dataset to assess future exposure, prioritize asset protection, design infrastructure for high-risk areas, or evaluate vulnerability in operations and supply chains.
Data are delivered in NetCDF format, with CSV or GeoTIFF versions available on request.
