Retail chicken Campylobacter genomes

Genome sequences analysed and discussed in the manuscript "High Campylobacter diversity in retail chicken - epidemiologically important strains may be missed with current sampling methods"; Campylobacter spp. are leading causes of bacterial gastroenteritis. Retail chicken meat is one of the main sources of Campylobacter. The burden of outbreaks may be underestimated due to infection underreporting, limited isolate sampling and bias associated with individual culture methods. An optimised culture and isolate sampling approach for retail chicken samples is necessary to support outbreak investigation and source attribution.
