Family doctors registered in Brazil 2013-2022

In 2022, approximately 11.2 thousand physicians were authorized to practice in the field of family medicine in Brazil, up from around 7.1 thousand doctors recorded two years prior. This figure increased by about eight thousand physicians compared to 2013, when the number of family doctors reached about 3.25 thousand in the South American country. The specialty, often referred to as general practice, focuses on the health of people in all age groups, and those who practice it are usually primary care physicians.
