Whole kidney transcriptome of the rat after 3 days water restriction

The aim of this study is to find genes with differential expression in the kidney when the organism has reduced water intake. Animals either had access to water ad libitum or had no access to water for 3 days. The whole kidney was sequenced to gain a comprehensive view of renal gene expression. Differentially expressed genes may be involved in the renal response to dehydration. This dataset is useful to compare to other whole kidney transcriptome datasets to find conserved gene expression responses.本研究旨在探寻机体摄水量减少时肾脏内的差异表达基因。实验动物分为两组：一组可自由摄水（ad libitum），另一组禁水3天。研究人员对全肾组织进行测序，以全面解析肾脏基因表达的整体特征。差异表达基因可能参与肾脏对脱水的应答反应。本数据集可用于与其他全肾转录组（transcriptome）数据集进行比对，从而筛选保守的基因表达应答模式。
