Genes differentially expressed by Wolbachia and Cardinium infection in silkworm cells (CBX85). unidentified

The effect of infection of insect bacteria was examined in the cultured cell line. Gene expression profiles in a silkworm cell line Bm-aff3 infected with insect bacterial symbionts, Wolbachia or Cardinium, were examined using silkworm 22K oligo-microarray (Agilent Technologies). Wolbachia or Cardinium were maintained in Bm-aff3. The infected cells were mixed with the same volume of uninfected cells. Uninfected control cells are also prepared. Total RNA was extracted from the infected cells and uninfected cells after 24 hr and 72 hr incubation. Gene expression levels were compared between bacteria infected cells and uninfected cells. Two biologically-replicated samples were prepared. Dye swap design were used in all comparison. Additionally, common reference design were used for the second replicate samples to determine the difference of the experimental design.
