Research progress and intellectual structure of design for digital equity: a bibliometrics and visualization analysis

Purpose: The primary purpose of this dataset is to support a comprehensive bibliometric and visualization analysis of the academic landscape surrounding Design for Digital Equity (DDE). This dataset is intended to aid researchers, policymakers, and educators in understanding the progress, intellectual structure, and emerging trends within the field of DDE. Nature: This dataset comprises 1705 publications related to Design for Digital Equity, extracted from the Web of Science database. Each entry includes detailed bibliographic information such as title, authors, publication year, journal, keywords, and abstracts. Additionally, citation data, including cited references, are provided to facilitate co-citation and bibliographic coupling analyses. Scope: The dataset covers a broad spectrum of research within the domain of DDE, encompassing topics such as user-centered design, assistive technology, digital health, mobile devices, evidence-based practices, and independent living. The time span of the publications ranges from 1995 to 2023, providing a historical perspective on the evolution of research in this area. The dataset is designed to be used with CiteSpace for generating co-occurrence networks, clustering, timeline analyses, and dual-map overlays, thereby offering a detailed visualization of the research trends and intellectual structure in DDE.
