资源简介:
Computational materials design using physics-based simulations and experiments is crucial for predicting advanced materials' structure and properties. This framework allows for rapid screening and optimization of alloy compositions and heat treatments, reducing time and costs and driving innovation in new materials and processes. The possibility of in-situ measurement of the precipitation kinetics in metallic alloys using small and wide angle X-ray scattering (SWAXS) offer a great opportunity to provide simulation tools with large amount of data, invaluable for their calibration. While computational tools have focused on steel, their application to Ni-base superalloys remain limited due to their complex precipitation sequences and lack of experimental data to capture time evolution of the nanoparticles. The experiment aims at verifying the feasibility of SWAXS at BM02 on these materials, as well as determining up to which precipitation stage nano-precipitates are still visible.
