Climate Warming Reshapes Reversals Between Opposing Streamflow Conditions Across Europe

This repository contains the data underlying the figures. The dataset provides characteristics of low-flow and high-flow episodes and inter-episode transition times across Europe under progressive climate warming. Contents:Data are derived from streamflow simulations by the mesoscale Hydrological Model (mHM) driven by ISIMIP3b bias-corrected forcings from five CMIP6 GCMs (GFDL-ESM4, IPSL-CM6A-LR, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MRI-ESM2-0, UKESM1-0-LL) under four SSP scenarios (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, SSP5-8.5). Episode characteristics include magnitude, frequency, and duration of low-flow (p < 0.20) and high-flow (p > 0.80) conditions identified from monthly Standardized Runoff Index (SRI) values. Transition times between opposing episode types are quantified for low→high and high→low directions. Spatial coverage: Pan-European domain at 0.125° × 0.125° resolution, restricted to river grid cells with upstream contributing areas exceeding 1,000 km². Temporal coverage: Historical reference period 1980–2010; warming levels of 1.5°C, 2°C, and 3°C above pre-industrial baseline.
